Guitar Lessons for Adults
Are you a busy adult, interested in learning to play an instrument, but think you don’t have time? Just half an hour a day can make a huge difference in your life! You can enjoy the pleasure of learning the guitar while giving your mind a rest from all the stresses of your day.
Benefits of Learning to Play Guitar
I have mentioned elsewhere on this site, some of the benefits of playing music, but I will repeat them here. Music is good for your brain! Listening to music and learning to play music actually increases the dopamine levels in your brain, increasing your pleasure and easing your way into relaxation. When you are concentrating on playing or reading music, your mind is not reliving the stressful day you just had. Instead, you are allowing your mind and body to relax so you can enjoy yourself.
You are never too old to learn something new! Learning to play guitar will also increase your confidence. It can be a way to make new friends as well. Because the guitar is such a portable instrument, it is easy to take it to music jams, sessions, and events, where you can meet other like-minded people.
Try a Virtual Lesson!
Are you too tired after your busy day to drive to a guitar lesson? Try a virtual lesson! No worries about inclement weather. Virtual lessons take the distance and worry out of the equation.
There are several platforms to choose from: I think Zoom and Whereby are two of the best and easiest to use, as they provide a very clear video with good audio. Skype is also an option. We can always use FaceTime and Facebook Messenger if you are more comfortable with those.
So put your worries aside and pick up a guitar. You will be amazed at how much fun it can be!
